Social Security pays people to get divorced.  If you're divorced, your ex-spouse may be entitled to benefits stemming from your work history.  As you get remarried, your benefit footprint magically grows. 

Divide Contributions As Part Of The Divorce Settlement:

Social Security should not subsidize divorce.  Social Security benefits are no different from any other asset, and contributions should be divided as part of the settlement.
