According to the Congressional Budget Office, the outlook for Social Security's trust fund has deteriorated by nearly a trillion dollars.

The article indicates that the deterioration stems from lower economic assumptions, specifically the jobs outlook, and the continued depressed Treasury rates as Fed policy keeps rates low.

The article says that we can expect the Trustee's Report to be reflect these same pressures when it releases it's report in May.
